
I think of these
as paintings you don't look at; or perhaps, paintings you don't look at in the way we often look at things, that is,
looking for or at something. The Akag paintings are intentionally large enough to get your attention, yet provide little to focus on—just enough to rise above
the threshold of what we notice.
